SSHRC Fellowships & OGS Scholarships

Graduate students are encouraged to apply for Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) fellowships and Ontario Graduate Scholarships (OGS). Only domestic students (citizens and permanent residents) are eligible for SSHRC awards.

New applicants applying to an eligible TST graduate program for the following Fall are encouraged to apply for an OGS and/or a SSHRC fellowship.

IMPORTANT: Some new applicants who wish to apply for a SSHRC doctoral fellowship may need to apply directly through SSHRC, and not through TST. Visit the SSHRC website for more information. Deadlines for direct SSHRC doctoral fellowship applications can be later than those listed below.

The School of Graduate Studies' Graduate Centre for Academic Communication (GCAC) offers courses and workshops each year on writing scholarship proposals. More information, including registration information (conjoint students only), may be found at the GCAC website.

IMPORTANT: When applying, students MUST email a screen shot of their application confirmation to the GCTS Office, gcts.office@utoronto.ca, prior to the deadline listed below.
